Bryan Griffin
Tenor Bryan Griffin recently graduated as a member of the Ryan Opera Center at the Lyric Opera of Chicago. He made his Lyric Opera debut as Edmondo in Olivier Tambosi’s new production of Manon Lescaut with Maestro Bruno Bartoletti. Bryan Griffin’s other roles at the Lyric Opera of Chicago have been Tamino in Die Zauberflöte, Fenton in Falstaff, and Tybalt in Roméo et Juliette.
Griffin’s 2009-10 season includes Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with the Philharmonic Society of Orange County, the world premiere of Cory Ratcliff’s Ode To Common Things with the Austin Symphony, Rachmaninoff’s The Bells with the Nashville Symphony, Mozart’s Requiem with the Phoenix Symphony and a concert tribute to famous Irish tenor John McCormack, presented by Boston College. Griffin will also appear as Nemorino in L’elisir d’amore with Toledo Opera.
Recent engagements include Faust with Opera Grand Rapids, Gerald in Lakmé with Florida Grand Opera and Malcolm in the opening night of Macbeth at Glyndebourne. In concert, Griffin performed Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with Sacred Music in a Sacred Space, Rachmaninoff’s The Bells with Helena Symphony a premiere by Michael Torke with Grant Park Music Festival, and returned to Lincoln Center in NYC Ballet’s presentation of Ravel’s Les Noces.
Griffin received his undergraduate degree from The Juilliard School. In the summer of 2004, he was an apprentice program at Santa Fe Opera. He also participated in the young-artist program of Florida Grand Opera, where he appeared in mainstage performances of Paul Bunyan, Die Zauberflöte, and Lucia di Lammermoor.
