Principal trombone for The Phoenix Symphony, Kim Ohlemeyer has been a member of the orchestra for 13 seasons. He first came to Phoenix playing second chair from 1982-86 and returned to take the position of acting second trombone in 1989. He eventually took over the principal position in 1990.
Ohlemeyer has held positions with other orchestras, including the Fort Wayne Philharmonic in Indiana, the Opera Company of Boston, the Springfield Symphony in Massachusetts and the State Orchestra of Mexico.
In guest appearances, Ohlemeyer has performed with the Boston Symphony and Indianapolis Symphony, and has spent seven years appearing at the Grand Teton Music Festival.
Ohlemeyer received his bachelor's degree in music from Boston University and completed work towards a master's degree at Indiana University. A resident of Phoenix, Ohlemeyer lives with his wife Maryellen and their two sons Eliot and Jacob.
