Having originally dedicated his mighty Symphony No. 3 to Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte, Beethoven vehemently crossed out the dedication on the front page of the score upon learning of the dictator’s tyranny. Hear the epic Eroica alongside his Symphony No. 1.
