Brian Gordon

Associate Principal Flute & Piccolo

Brian Gordon began as the Assistant Principal Flutist and Piccoloist with The Phoenix Symphony in 1981, (later becoming Associate Principal Flutist and Piccoloist) and has played piccolo and flute at the Eastern Music Festival in the summer months since 1986. Brian earned his Bachelor of Music degree from Eastman. While pursuing his Masters of Music at Indiana University, he played Principal Flute with the Evansville Philharmonic. As a soloist, he has appeared with The Phoenix Symphony, the Columbus Symphony, at the Shenandoah Bach Festival and at the Eastern Music Festival. As a Chamber Musician, he has been privileged to perform across the country, from the Portland Chamber Festival in Maine, to the Rossmore Music Series in California, as well as the Sedona Chamber Festival in Arizona. In 1998, Mr. Gordon was honored to appear as Guest Piccoloist with the Boston Symphony on their European Tour. Brian is grateful to his teachers, William Hebert, Walfrid Kujala, Marcel Moyse, Kazuo Tokito and Lois Schaeffer.
