Valley Youth Theatre

Established in 1989, Valley Youth Theatre (VYT) is dedicated to having a positive impact on young people’s lives through a wide range of performing arts opportunities.  It is their goal that through these experiences, young people will learn life lessons that serve them well as adults; that they discover a lasting interest in and appreciation for the performing arts; and that they take with them the inspiration to be the best they can be.  Valley Youth Theatre is more than a performing arts organization; they are a safe place for youth to make new friends, learn respect, and gain the skills that will allow them to achieve their greatest potential as caring, responsible and successful citizens.  Young people not only participate in the performing arts but also learn discipline, time management, and teamwork, the cornerstone of the leadership development model they promote.

Aspiring thespians enjoy more than just a curtain call and applause; they also earn money, thanks to VYT’s unique scholarship program.  Each actor, orchestra member and technician receives a stipend for every production they are involved in. These funds are held for them until they finish high school and are made available to them to help with their college expenses.

Attesting to Valley Youth Theatre’s success is its roster of alumni, which includes American idol Jordin Sparks, Dancing With The Stars finalist and Disney Star Chelsea Kane and Golden Globe nominee and The Help star Emma Stone.
