October Events with The Phoenix Symphony

Classic Beethoven, Latin flair, and haunting Hitchcock

(PHOENIX) - The Phoenix Symphony's October concerts offer something for everyone. The month starts Oct. 5-8 with one of Beethoven's greatest works, his Choral Fantasy. The music then turns to a little Latin flair with guest conductor Carlos Miguel Prieto, Oct 12-14, leading a concert of Latin-inspired favorites. Next, the piano virtuosity of Van Cliburn Competition Winner Alexander Kobrin is on display Oct 19-22. Finally, celebrate Halloween with Alfred Hitchcock as the Symphony performs the spine-tingling scores of his masterworks Oct 27 - 29.

In addition, a special event to fundraise for the Symphony will be held in mid-October. With fabulous food, fine wine and spirits, live jazz, and an intriguing collection of silent auction items, join The Phoenix Symphony and Phoenix Magazine as they host Food, Wine & Jazz on October 15. Tickets for the event, held at Kierland Commons, are $80 in advance at the Phoenix Symphony Box Office.

Tickets for The Phoenix Symphony's performance are currently on sale. Thursday's concert begins at 7:30pm; Friday and Saturday's concerts begin 8 p.m. at Symphony Hall, in downtown Phoenix.
