Season Dedication
For over 50 years of generous support and eternal commitment to the arts in our community, The Phoenix Symphony is deeply honored to dedicate our 2011-2012 season to Jeanne L. and Gary K. Herberger.
A mere list cannot begin to capture the fierce dedication and charitable spirit Jeanne and Gary have infused into the Symphony family. From advising on executive committees to myriad chairmanships and presidencies, their remarkable contributions have inspired the impact our Symphony continues to have on the Arizona community, its youth and their education. “We are seeking the symphonies Beethoven never wrote, the paintings Leonardo dreamed but never executed,” Jeanne wrote in her letter to 1973 Symphony Ball supporters as President of The Phoenix Symphony Guild. “We are seeking…to provide the people of Arizona with a better informed, more sensitive citizenry.”
Gary, the Founding President of the Men’s Symphony Council in 1973, was likewise keen on attracting new members to the Symphony family, exploring exciting new projects and mentoring new Symphony management. Together, this unstoppable team’s advisory and financial leadership have seen the Symphony through outstanding growth and development. We are truly blessed to recognize them as cherished, lifelong members of The Phoenix Symphony family and applaud them for keeping our music alive for the vitality of generations to come.
