$60M Worth of Cars to be Displayed November 6 at The Sound of Speed’s “Pit Road” Festival 

  • Who: Barrett-Jackson, Phoenix International Raceway and The Phoenix Symphony, Tom Wopat of The Dukes of Hazzard
  • What: The Phoenix Symphony and Barrett-Jackson celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Phoenix International Raceway with a special event, “The Sound of Speed,” featuring a “Pit Road” Street Festival, VIP party and special concert and world-performance of “The Sound of Speed Overture.”  This groundbreaking event is the first partnership of this kind between the NASCAR and the orchestral worlds.     1939 Cadillac LaSalle C-Hawk Custom Hardtop RoadsterTom Wopat, event MC and performer in “The Sound of Speed” multi-media concert will be on hand at the VIP pre-concert party to sign PGA golfer Bubba Watson’s beloved vehicle, and media are invited to attend to capture this truly remarkable Americana event. Watson arranged for his distinct vehicle to be shipped to Phoenix especially for this signing opportunity with Wopat. 

    Also on display at the festival is the 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Yenko Re-Creation Coupe driven by Paul Walker in the 2003 film, “2 Fast 2 Furious.” 

    A 2008 Bugatti Veyron, the most expensive car ever produced, will be on display along with other cars owned personally by Craig Jackson. There are at least three high-profile cars on display associated with pro NASCAR drivers: #88 Dale Jr. NASCAR showcar (Chevrolet), #14 Tony Stewart NASCAR showcar (Chevrolet) and a 2013 Ford Fusion NASCAR Race Car from Rusty Wallace.

     Tickets for the “Pit Road” festival are just $10. Tickets to the performance portion of the evening range from $30 to $99 and include complimentary access to Barrett-Jackson’s “Pit Road” prior to the concert.
