Tessa, along with Phoenix Symphony Musicians Isabel Tannenbaum, Sarah Wager and Bridget Pasker, partnered with ABODA to create professional-quality excerpt recordings that students across Arizona can use as part of their audition preparation.
With the help of ABODA Board Members Stephanie Campbell and Chuck Stewart, a series of recordings, including those contributed by Tessa, Isabel, Sarah and Bridget, were posted to ABODA. These recordings provide band and orchestra students with direct insight into how professional symphony musicians approach certain musical excerpts that go beyond simply reading notes on a page.
Stephanie Campbell, ABODA Board President Elect, explained that “these recordings provide students with professional-quality interpretations of the required orchestral excerpts, allowing them to hear how elite musicians approach style, articulation, tempo, phrasing, balance, and overall musicality… ultimately boosting confidence and musical readiness for high-stakes auditions.”
This collaboration is an example of how Phoenix Symphony musicians extend their impact far beyond the concert hall—meeting students where they are, responding to real needs, and strengthening the broader music education ecosystem across the state.
Whether on stage, in classrooms, or behind the scenes creating resources for young musicians, The Phoenix Symphony continues to show up in meaningful ways that support learning, growth, and artistic excellence throughout Arizona.
