Phoenix Symphony Student Composition Project

The Phoenix Symphony Composition Project offers young Arizona composers the opportunity to create original orchestral works, receive professional guidance and potentially have their music performed by the Symphony during an educational performance in the 2025-26 season.

The program is open to students in two age divisions:

  • 1st through 8th grade
  • 9th through 12th grade

Project Highlights:

  • Feedback Opportunities: Prior to submission, participants may request a feedback session with Associate Conductor Alex Amsel*, provided they have a two-minute draft prepared.
  • Educational Outreach: Selected compositions may be showcased in the 2025-26 season.
  • Recognition: If your piece is selected to be performed, you will be recognized during the performance and in related educational materials.
