Dear Friends,
We look forward with anticipation to the 2024-25 Season of the Phoenix Symphony. The upcoming season is one of astonishing breadth and variety, and the programs reflect our dynamic and vibrant community. Filled with classical, popular, film, holiday, and family performances, a thrilling season lies ahead. Subscribe to enrich your life with great music.
Join us on the exciting journey as we search for the Symphony’s next Virginia G. Piper Music Director. You will not want to miss the guest conductors on our classical series who will lead concerts performed by our superb musicians and exceptional guest artists. Opening weekend is The Planets, October 4-6.
This fall, the Symphony Gala returns, with A Wicked Weekend at the Symphony. Renowned American musical theater lyricist and composer Stephen Schwartz – winner of multiple Academy Awards, Grammy® Awards, and more – will make a special appearance, as the Phoenix Pops season opens with Defying Gravity: The Music of Stephen Schwartz and Friends, October 11-13.
With your support, our Symphony serves Phoenix and Arizona both on and off the stage. Our extensive community engagement and education programs reach an economically and ethnically diverse group of more than 100,000 participants each year. Engaging multiple generations, our four concentrations include education and lifelong learning, health and wellness initiatives, Mind Over Music®, and research. After working in the orchestra field for many years, I believe these programs are among the finest in the nation.
Arizona is a remarkable state with an amazing spirit of optimism. That is how we feel about our future at the Phoenix Symphony. We are optimistic because of the enthusiasm of our audience members and the steadfast commitment of members of our Symphony family. I continue to be inspired by the visionary leadership of the many people who believe strongly that a great city, and a great state, need a great orchestra.
This is your Symphony, and we are working together. To learn more, I invite you to read about our musicians, Symphony Board, Symphony Foundation Board, and staff, including new musicians and a new board member elected this month. If you have comments or suggestions, please contact me. See you at the Symphony!
Sincerely,
Peter Kjome
