This season, the Phoenix Symphony had the opportunity to spotlight the talents of Arizona’s young artists during performances designed specifically for kids. We’ve had students from Ballet Etudes Academy, Rosie’s House and Mesa Youth Creative Agency showcase their skills at our family concerts, inspiring audiences with their creativity — and that’s just the beginning.
We are bringing this inspiration to your students in a whole new way. Yola Svoma’s Symphony No. 1, Movement 4, a remarkable composition by a young Arizona composer, will be featured during every Symphony for the Schools (SFTS) field trip performance during the 2024/25 Season. Hear movement 4 of her piece during our Symphony For The Schools field trips coming up in February, March or May.
But that’s not all—we are announcing a new Composition Showcase for local Arizona students with Phoenix Symphony Associate Conductor Alex Amsel. Alex invites you to explore this opportunity and encourages young composers to dream big and share their original composing talents. Details on how to submit will be posted on Phoenix Symphony website in January 2025.
