PHOENIX – The Savor the Symphony Women’s Luncheon was a sold-out soiree. Women from across the Valley attended the signature Phoenix Symphony luncheon on January 27, 2017, that featured access to vocal group Under the Streetlamp’s rehearsal and delicious food prepared by Chef Adam Sheff of the Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Spa with cocktails created by mixologist Travis Nass.
Thanks to the generosity of corporate and individual sponsors, the 2017 Savor the Symphony was the most successful event yet. This annual luncheon generates support for The Phoenix Symphony’s Education and Wellness programs that impact an average of 125,000 individuals each year.
Savor the Symphony guests enjoyed a “Winter Quartet” signature cocktail and behind the scenes access to the rehearsal of Under the Streetlamp and The Phoenix Symphony orchestra while they performed popular hits from the American Radio Songbook. Led by emcee Robin Sewell, guests took part in a Live Auction featuring a private dinner for 10 with Chef Sheff, a “Power Lunch” with Phoenix Police and Fire Chiefs and a weeklong stay at a Park City, UT resort home.
Nicole Bidwill, Arizona Cardinals Vice President served as Honorary Chair, alongside Co-Chairs Sue Glawe, Vice President of Community Relations at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona, and Karrin Taylor, Founder and President of Arizona Strategies.
The event Co-Chairs provided their time and talent to lead the event, because both recognized the value that a thriving Symphony and educational programs have on the community. “The Phoenix Symphony serves as a catalyst in helping Arizona become one of the best places in America to live, work and play,” said Karrin Taylor. “Funding for Savor the Symphony allows the Phoenix Symphony to continue offering programs that provide rich cultural experiences for individuals representative of Arizona’s diverse landscape of ethnicities and cultures,” said Sue Glawe.
