Toby Yatso

Toby Yatso is truly honored to be back as a narrator for the Phoenix Symphony!  You might recognize him from other pieces over the years, like Lemony Snicket’s The Composer is Dead, Gerald McBoing Boing, Billy and the Carnival, Tubby the Tuba, and as Captain Scurvy in A Pirate’s Adventure.  Toby has also performed with the Phoenix Symphony on Phoenix Theatre collaborations of The Music Man and An Evening with Rodgers and Hammerstein.  As Artist-in-Residence at Phoenix Theatre, some of his favorite PT stage credits include Malcolm in The Full Monty, Leo in The Producers (ariZoni Award winner), Male 2 in Forbidden Broadway, Paul in Company, Cosme in Glorious (ariZoni and Encore Society Award winner), Corny Collins in Hairspray, Princeton/Rod in Avenue Q (Encore Society Award winner), Joe in The Spitfire Grill, Lancelot (et al.) in Spamalot, Harold in 'S Wonderful, and most recently as Clown 2 in The 39 Steps.  Other favorite credits include Tom in Hunter Gatherers, Ash in Evil Dead: The Musical (ariZoni Award winner), Orin (et al.) in Little Shop of Horrors, and Mr. Mayor/Wickersham Brother in Seussical, and several concerts with the valley’s own Salt River Brass.  Favorite directing credits include The 25th...Spelling Bee, Forbidden Broadway, Runaways, Lucky Stiff, Devil Boys From Beyond, Oedipus For Kids!, Bat Boy: The Musical, and Smile.  Toby is a member of Actors’ Equity, the Megaw Actor's Studio, director/instructor for Phoenix Theatre’s Musical Theatre Intensive program, and he is on the musical theatre faculty of ASU's Lyric Opera Theatre.
