PHOENIX (September 24, 2024) – The Phoenix Symphony announced the election of Dr. Eric J. Bieber to the Board of Directors for an initial term of three years.
“We are delighted to welcome Eric Bieber to The Phoenix Symphony’s Board of Directors,” said Adam Goodman, Board Chair. “His experience and insights will help us to advance our orchestra at an important time in its history. I am optimistic about the future as the Symphony fulfills its mission to provide extraordinary musical experiences that inspire and advance our community.”
Eric Bieber joins a board of 30 people that includes the following officers: Board Chair Adam Goodman; Morris “Mo” Stein, Chair Elect; Lon Babby, Immediate Past Co-Chair; Susan Haag, Treasurer; Laura Franco French, Secretary; David Bornemann, Vice Chair; Dr. Oliver Harper, Vice Chair and Chair Emeritus; Jenny Holsman Tetreault, Vice Chair; and Jeff Rich, Vice Chair.
Bieber retired in 2022 to pursue his passion for music. He was formerly president and chief executive officer of Rochester Regional Health, one of the largest employers in upstate New York, and responsible for almost twenty thousand employees, nine hospitals, and a for-profit global laboratory. He has a lifelong love of music, having been raised in the home of a high school principal and band director and a classically trained pianist. Bieber has played in jazz and rock bands professionally throughout his career.
Phoenix Symphony President and CEO Peter Kjome spoke about the election. “The Symphony is incredibly fortunate to have an exceptional group of community leaders on our Board of Directors. Our Board Members are committed to the arts and powerful advocates for the Symphony as one of Arizona’s most important cultural assets,” said Kjome. “We are grateful to Eric Bieber for his willingness to serve and thrilled to welcome Eric to the Symphony family.”
