Phoenix Symphony Partners with Arizona Ford Dealers Association

Ford Becomes the Official Vehicle of the Target Family Series

PHOENIX – The Phoenix Symphony today announced that Arizona Ford Dealers will be the official vehicle of the Target Family Series.  This is a two-year partnership for the family concerts that will span the 2011-12 and 2012-2013 seasons.

The first concert for this exclusive partnership will be the Holiday Celebration on December 3 at 2:30 p.m..  Each family concert will feature showroom-quality displays of some of Ford’s latest models demonstrating new exciting features such as WiFi capabilities from the vehicle.  Other concerts in the series where patrons will have the opportunity to view the latest innovations from Ford include Beethoven Lives Upstairs on January 7, Dr. Seuss’ Green Eggs and Ham on March 17, Musical Fables on April 28 and High Flying! Cirque de la Symphonie on May 26.  All family performances are held at Symphony Hall, start at 2:30 p.m. and are conducted by The Phoenix Symphony’s young, dynamic Resident Conductor Joseph Young.

“The Phoenix Symphony is proud to partner with the Arizona Ford Dealers Association for our family series.  We are pleased that the Arizona Ford Dealers Association recognizes the impact music education and the arts have on tomorrow’s workforce,” said the Symphony’s Interim President and CEO Jim Ward. “Ford offers models that are ideal for the family and we would like to see every family pile into their Ford and head for a Phoenix Symphony family concert to create a childhood foundation for appreciating music that will last a lifetime.”

Camelback Ford will provide the vehicles and rotate a variety of models to be displayed at the performances allowing patrons the chance to explore the newest innovations offered by Ford.  There will be opportunities to experience some features first hand, such as WiFi.

“The Phoenix Symphony offers an experience that can be both exhilarating and relaxing, an experience similar to driving one of our vehicles,” said Arizona Ford Dealers Association’s Chairman Tim Hovik, whose San Tan Ford dealership is one of the supporters of this partnership. “A well-performed concert is executed with precision, where all the musicians play superbly under the direction of a talented conductor resulting in a welcome experience that you know will be repeated each time you attend The Phoenix Symphony.  We believe this is similar to driving one of our vehicles where all the quality parts perform with excellence under the direction of you, the driver, giving you the confidence that the vehicle will meet all your expectations each time you start the engine.”
