Premiere SYMPHNY series a success in Roosevelt Row

PHOENIX, AZ – In a space normally know for quiet musings of visual art, The Phoenix Symphony under the baton of Virginia G. Piper Music Director Tito Muñoz joined forces with the team at True North Studio to transform the MonOrchid, a historic Roosevelt Row warehouse into a satellite concert hall for the premiere of the SYMPHNY series. The event was sold out in advanced, and the venue packed with over 70 musicians and nearly 200 guests.

Patrons were able to arrive early and enjoy a Phoenix Symphony string quartet, cocktails, photobooth, and the artwork of Antoinette Cauley on display in the MonOrchid gallery space. Tito Muñoz constructed a thrilling and emotional dichotomy featuring the composer pair of Gustav Holst and John Williams. The program was naturally filled space-themed works, such as movements of Holsts’ The Planets and iconic works from Star Wars, more powerful than ever in the intimate space. As described by attendee Lynne Fondrisi: “This was one of the most unique musical experiences I have ever had. It was like sitting on stage with the Symphony.”

After the performance patrons were encouraged to stay and mingle with Phoenix Symphony musicians.
