June 5, 2025
Dear Friends,
As we conclude the 2024/25 Season, I am filled with gratitude and optimism. This is a pivotal time for The Phoenix Symphony, rich with opportunity and challenge. With deep appreciation, I reflect on the progress we have made and the shared dedication propelling us toward a bright and promising future.
Progress and Momentum
This season has been marked by artistic excellence, deeper community connections, and meaningful growth. We are moving forward with energy and focus, driving ticket sales, securing key commitments, and building on the positive momentum we are creating together.
In recent weeks alone, more than 10,000 audience members have joined us for performances. Beyond the concert hall, our musicians continue to make a profound difference through our Community Engagement and Education Programs, bringing music to places such as Lodestar Day Resource Center, Circle the City, and St. Vincent de Paul. Just this past weekend, talented young musicians from the Academy Drum and Bugle Corps joined the Symphony on stage for Beethoven X Beyoncé at Symphony Hall.
These moments offer just a glimpse of our shared impact. Together with our community, we are transforming lives through music, and we have the potential to do even more.
Crescendo Campaign Impact
Thanks to extraordinary leadership and generosity, Crescendo: The Campaign for The Phoenix Symphony is advancing with strength and purpose. More than $10 million has already been committed toward our $60 million goal, which includes $40 million to build our endowment and $20 million to strengthen and expand our programs.
On May 20, we were honored to announce a $1 million commitment from Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust, establishing the Laura R. Grafman Senior Vice President and Chief Advancement Officer endowed position, held with distinction by Tammy Rocker. In the weeks and months ahead, we will continue to share stories of impact as more leaders are inspired to help shape a bold and enduring future.
Exceptional Opportunity Ahead
Our upcoming 2025/26 Season promises to be exceptional, reflecting our continued commitment to extraordinary musical experiences that inspire, uplift, and enrich lives across our entire community. This season of astonishing breadth and variety has been thoughtfully planned as we continue on the exciting search for our next music director.
People Who Make It Possible
Our extraordinary musicians live and work in our community, many having served with distinction for decades. We are also fortunate to be guided by remarkable people on our Board and Foundation Board, as well as other devoted community leaders. Together with our outstanding staff, we are making meaningful progress to advance The Phoenix Symphony and fulfill our mission.
None of this would be possible without you. Your partnership and support are essential as we continue to enrich the lives of people in Phoenix and Arizona.
I am eager to hear your comments and suggestions and invite you to contact me at [email protected]. Many thanks.
With gratitude,
Peter Kjome
