The Phoenix Symphony Gala Returns, Celebrates 70 Years

After a 10-year hiatus, The Phoenix Symphony’s gala returned, just in time for its 70-year anniversary. The event welcomed more than 200 guests for an evening of activities and music on December 31 at the Arizona Biltmore.
The event began with cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, a photo station and a raffle featuring a custom-designed necklace in the shape of the symphony’s logo — made with diamonds and sapphires and valued at over $15,000.
Guests then enjoyed a three-course meal complete with a specialty chocolate piano dessert while listening to The JJs Band.
The Symphony then performed an hour-long program including “S’ Wonderful,” “Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You,” “Tritsch-Tratsch Polka,” and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Think of Me” from “Phantom of the Opera.”
The night ended with dancing and a champagne toast.
The event was chaired by Jeff and Leslie Rich. The program include a tribute to honorary chair Jeanne Herberger, recognizing her nearly five decades of leadership and support of The Phoenix Symphony.
