Friends of The Phoenix Symphony,
It is with heavy hearts, we are writing to share our decision to cancel the previously announced 2020/21 season of concerts due to the COVID-19 global pandemic. While this news is difficult to hear and disappointing to all of us, it represents the safest and most prudent plan to ensure the well-being of the entire community. In addition, as stewards of this beloved institution, our mission and focus centers on preserving the future and reuniting in Symphony Hall to celebrate our 75th Anniversary in the Fall of 2021.
The Phoenix Symphony has a distinguished tradition of engaging people across the Valley through groundbreaking education programs, health and wellness initiatives and exemplary symphonic performances. To that end, The Phoenix Symphony is committed, alongside our extraordinary musicians, to creatively explore ways to remain connected to our community.
We have been incredibly fortunate to receive steadfast support from our patrons and donors, as well as our corporate, foundation and community partners for 74 years. Undoubtably, COVID-19 has had a tremendous economic impact on our organization. Your continued financial contribution will make a critical difference in helping our organization weather the coming months in preparation of our historic anniversary .
On behalf of The Phoenix Symphony, thank you for your invaluable friendship and generous spirit. Over the past seven months, in my position as President & CEO, The Phoenix Symphony has faced many unforeseen challenges. Time and time again, I have been inspired by our resilient community who continues to stand by and support this treasured institution, and its role as a cultural icon of Arizona. I am so proud and grateful to be a part of this wonderful family and I look forward to reconnecting with you very soon.
