Welcome to Vanguardia Arizona. Host James E. Garcia welcomes singer and recording artist Isabel Marie Sanchez, who’ll be performing in the Phoenix Pops Symphony presentation of “The Music of Selena,” April 5 and 6 at the Orpheum Theater. Sanchez was the 2017 Tejano Music Awards Best New Female Artist and a 2022 Latin Grammy nominated artist. She’s joined for today’s interview by Christopher Powell, Vice President of Operations and Artistic Planning at the Phoenix Symphony.
“The Music of Selena” is a tribute “Queen of Tejano Music” and covers her iconic hits like “Dreaming of You,” “No Me Queda Más” and “I Could Fall in Love” among many others.
