In Business PHX: Symphony Appoints Former Development Staff to New Role

The Phoenix Symphony announces the return of an exceptional leader to the organization. Tammy Rocker has been appointed as Senior Vice President and Chief Advancement Officer.

Tammy Rocker joins President and CEO Peter Kjome, Vice President of Development Nicole Peña, the Symphony’s Board of Directors, staff, musicians, and others to work in partnership with people who believe in the Phoenix Symphony and provide vital support for the orchestra.

In this role, Tammy brings remarkable experience and knowledge in support of the Phoenix Symphony. She previously served as the Symphony’s Chief Development Officer, and most recently was Division Vice President for the Southwest region at the American Lung Association. Earlier in her career, Tammy Rocker served for over a decade with the American Heart Association, where she led the Western States region as senior vice president and executive director. With a proven track record of success, she has led multimillion-dollar development programs and served in numerous senior management roles.

“We are thrilled that Tammy has returned to the Phoenix Symphony at an important time in our history,” said Peter Kjome, President and CEO. Kjome continued, “Tammy’s leadership abilities, extensive experience, and relationships with community leaders who care deeply about the Symphony will help us advance our great orchestra and enrich the lives of thousands of people who benefit from its concerts, community engagement, and education programs.”

Vice President of Development Nicole Peña commented on the appointment. “I am thrilled that Tammy has joined us as we work together to move the Symphony forward. We have a strong team that is greatly enhanced with the addition of Tammy Rocker.”

“This is an exciting time for me to return to the Phoenix Symphony,” said Tammy Rocker. “I look forward to working in collaboration with Peter Kjome, Nicole, the Board of Directors, staff, musicians, and others to foster and renew important relationships with those who support the Symphony and its programs that enrich the lives of thousands of people in our community.”
