Phoenix Symphony brings concerts to classrooms

By Tami Hoey – email

PHOENIX (KPHO) –

A new school music program is hitting all the right notes with students and teachers.

The Phoenix Symphony sponsors the outreach program Classroom Concerts.

Members of the symphony travel around to Valley schools, performing for students and giving them a taste of classical music, right in their classrooms. For some kids, it’s the first time they’ve been exposed to this kind of music.

The program inspires young students to develop a deeper understanding of musical instruments and maybe even motivate them to take up an instrument themselves.
