Update from President & CEO, Peter Kjome

By Peter Kjome, President and CEO

April 25, 2023

The Phoenix Symphony is an integral and indispensable part of Phoenix and Arizona, and many people are working together to advance our orchestra and its programs. As we begin an exciting new chapter, I am inspired by the dedication and passion of those who care deeply about our orchestra and its vital role in our community. It is a privilege to join the Symphony family.

This season will continue to be filled with superb concerts and compelling education programs. The Symphony’s outstanding performances at Symphony Hall and other venues are in addition to a busy schedule of education and community engagement initiatives that are an essential part of our orchestra’s service to our city and state.

After nearly a decade with Tito Muñoz as our Music Director, the institution’s artistic growth has been tremendous. With the strong leadership of our Board – and the support of visionary community leaders who have continued to demonstrate incredible passion for and belief in our Symphony – we will continue to make important progress.

Looking ahead, this is a time of innovation and growth. The needs of current and future patrons are evolving, and our Symphony is evolving in turn. To advance the orchestra and fulfill its mission, we will build our family of audience members and donors and more fully realize our role as the largest performing arts organization in Arizona.

As we embark on an exciting new journey together, there is a shared sense of gratitude for the extraordinary generosity and commitment that enables our work. Your attendance, advocacy, and support have fostered an ensemble that is one of Arizona’s greatest cultural assets.

In the weeks ahead, we expect to announce a thrilling new 2023-24 Season, and I believe you will be delighted by the rich array of programs that are planned. It is with a spirit of optimism and excitement that I share this message with you. As we work together to chart the course toward a bright future, I invite you to contact me with any feedback or suggestions.

Whether you are a lifelong resident of Phoenix and Arizona or a relatively recent arrival like me, this is your Symphony. Thank you for your attendance and support.

Sincerely,

Peter Kjome, President & CEO
