PHOENIX (March 25, 2024) — The Phoenix Symphony is announcing legendary performer Aída Cuevas will sing at “The Queen of Mariachi” concerts April 12-April 14.

Cuevas, one of the greatest Mexican singers of all time and the first female singer to win a Grammy Award in the mariachi genre, has entertained Presidents Gerald Ford, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, the King and Queen of Spain, the Shah of Iran, and every Mexican president since 1975.

Affectionately known as “The Queen of Mariachi,” the Latin Grammy Award-winner and the renowned Mariachi Aztlan join guest conductor Jeff Tyzik and The Phoenix Symphony in such beloved songs as “El Pastor” and “Mexico en la piel,” as well as her greatest hits “Te Doy Las Gracias” and “Quizas Manana.”

“Aída Cuevas is the complete musical package. Her voice is stunning, her stage presence is unforgettable and the way she engages the audience in a celebration of mariachi music makes her concerts an opportunity that can’t be missed,” said Tito Muñoz, Virginia G.
